Dagger My first one

I agree with qxb1229, "blade profile is very beautiful". 我翻译给你...我希望这是正确的

-Steve

sorry you're wrong
"harmon is very beauiful" is the right translation

I'd agree that the diamond shaped guard looks a little out of place but other than that, top notch work. Well constructed with excellent finish.

I guess this just goes to show that... "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". ;)

The Diamond Guard just does it for me. It is a focal point that just looks classy as I see it. I love it!!!! :)

Steve, as I mentioned in my earlier post..... I'd like to buy this knife.

Is it for sale ????
:)

So, who is harmon? And yes, I was wrong, or more appropriately google translator was wrong. Edge grain is what another translator gave me....guess thats hamon. Either way, both are very beautiful!!

That blade is just exquisite. Dagger blades are the hardest to grind and hardest to hammon temper because you are working with twice the plains that have to all be symmetrical. Every where lines meet the must meet perfectly or they stand out like a mountain in Kansas. But you now know this...
I do have to agree with the others as far as the mounting treatment, it just doesn't do justice to the blade. Look up Blesingame's ABS (maybe it was a KMG knife) dagger from the late 90s.

Nice, Steve-but be careful! daggers can become adictive. First, a 6" blade, then why not do a nine incher, pretty soon you're making swords:)

Dave

Thanks for all the kind words. It was fun making, I do like trying different things. I don't know if I am cutout for sword after making this one I think I may be at or very near my skill level but thanks for planting the seed now I will have to try something bigger.LOL..I wasn't sure if I was going to sell it or not being its not my normal knife but I did post it on my websit for sale and teacher I sent you a PM ( I think) Thanks ...Steve Randall

Steve,
I did not get your first message , but I did get the one today.......
I have answered you in an email mail... [as my PM box is full and I don't want to take time to clean it out right now. ;).. ]

Consider it sold, if you read this first.

Thank you ............

Steve,
The Dagger arrived today.
The picture you posted here looked pretty good.... BUT....:(

..... The picture did not do this Dagger justice.
:D ;) [Sorry, I couldn't resist... :D .. ]

This thing is beautiful!!!!
Very, very well done. Fit and finish are about as perfect as it could get and the hamon line is fantastic.
This is a great piece all the way around........... And that is an understatement.

And as far as the "Diamond Guard" goes, maybe that is just personal preference for some; but I think you hit a home run using it.
I love it................. :)

Same goes for the 'skull crusher' on the pommel.

I would not change a thing.

I do not think "feedback" can be given on iTrader from this forum.
If you want that [and you should] please post both pieces on the Sale Forum so I can give feedback.

They are both fantastic and you deserve the feedback.

As a side note on the 'Drop Point'......... Fit & Finish are superb and you surely know how to make a handle that is functional and comfortable when held in any position.

I am more than pleased with both.

I am going to add a link to your site on my web page .....
[ www.abcparasail.com ] with the few select others that are there!
Thanks,
Cp

I like it, but I think the handle needs some dark stain.

EDIT: On second thought, a glossy polyurethane coating would look nice as well.

To each his own... but this "baby" is perfect just the way it is......
No second guessing needed.......... ;)

I agree with "Teacher". And you sure are getting a lot of mileage on this forum with that knife.

Thanks for all the views and positive comments.
When I started this project my attempt was to make an old western style gentleman's dagger. If I undertake another dagger project I'll certainly take into consideration all the great comments and suggestions.
Teacher - glad your happy (PM sent)..Steve Randall
