OK the guy has been waiting 4 years for this, I'm done plugging away at it..
O1 steel with a finger patina , (rubbed with finger oil only for weeks )
Guard and pommel is heat colored
handle is select Water buffalo horn
3 rubies one in the blade and one in each end of the guard
the paneled sheath has Black rattle snake skin and a tooled window
sorry for the bad pictures.. I hope he's happy with it..
I might mention that the recarso looks like it has a gap the guard is reflecting the leather so it looks like that, if you look close you can see it..

How do you get the brass/gold tubing to stay in the hole so you can set the ruby in it? How you guys get the tip of a dagger ground down so fine I will never figure out!
Even after a four year wait, the guy's jaw will drop when he sees this!!!
You need to take some more pix of it for your own records and I would love to see em!!!

I'm going to send this one to Coop I think, he'll do a lot better job o the pictures..,, the customer said OK to do so..


the grinds look a bit off, but they look like that at an angle where the grinds are hollow ground with a 2 1/2 wheel.. it sure is pointy :D

the rubies are preset in 14K gold bezels with barbs, using a special carbide step drill, they pop right in..

WOW! It was a long wait but the customer will have to be happy with that result!!!
