Daily Carry Firestarters/Tinder

I forgot to say: I do not carry any fire starter on a daily basis. A small ferrocerium rod on the keychain would be a good idea.
Futhermore, when in the woods -not often recently

- I carry waterproof matches, a flameless torch and a disposable butane lighter in the belt pouch. In the backpack, I have more matches, BIC lighters and an old Zippo sealed up with elecrician's tape (that works if you don't want to use it frequently).

I recently picked up a couple of the Boy Scout fire starters (the Hot-Spark) that was mentioned before. $2 each gets you a 1" ferrocium rod ~1/8" thick, with a small plastic handle w/ lanyard hole, also about an inch long, as well as a small steel striker about 2" long. Brief trials w/ vaseline cotton balls worked very well, as did plain cotton balls. Very inexpensive, small (would easily fit on a keyring), and works well.
