Ok, this is really not a poll but sort of a poll.

I'm interested the type of knives and tools people carry with them most days. I'm not particularly interested in specific brands or models.

Which of the following types do you carry? Bonus points for why. Double bonus points for pictures.

+ Single blade folder (in pocket)
+ Large single blade folder (in belt sheath)
+ Multi blade traditional slip joint (in pocket)
+ Boy scout or SAK type multi-function slip joint (in pocket)
+ Small key chain tool (on key chain)
+ Small key chain tool (in pocket)
+ Full size multi-tool (in pocket)
+ Full sized multi tool (in belt sheath)
+ Full sized (in pack)
+ Fixed blade (necker)
+ Fixed blade (in pocket sheath)
+ Fixed blade (in belt sheath)
+ Fixed blade (in pack)

If I missed a common choice and carry option, please add your own.

My choices...

Single blade folder in RFP.
Key chain tool in LFP.
Full sized multi-tool in my day pack.

I carry:

Single large blade folder in my right front pocket
Smallish traditional or SAK in my left front pocket

Some days, I might carry more than one knife, just depends on whether or not I have a new item I want to show off to my knife buds at work.

In my backpack, I am always carrying a large multi-tool and a fixed blade. Why? Absolutely no useful reason, just because. LOL I can admit it.

I carry:
One medium to large modern folder in my right front pocket. I could do all my typical tasks with just a tiny slipjoint, but I enjoy carrying and playing with large modern folders. Plus, occasionally a task comes along that makes me glad I have the capabilities of a larger knife (most recently, cutting a cake at a park when nobody remembered to bring a knife or serving utensils).

A small CR123 flashlight in my watch pocket. I almost never need this, but I find a use for it once a month or so. Even in those cases I could easily get by without it, but I enjoy carrying it regardless.

A Gerber Shard on my keychain. Opens my beers at parties when someone walks off with the bottle opener.

I may also carry an SAK or medium sized multitool in rare situations, such as a trip to the shooting range or road trip where I may find myself in need of additional tools.

Folder in pocket
SAK Kadet in pocket
AA / AAA Light in pocket
Fixed in bag
Batteries in bag
FAK in bag
Solar panel (Goal Zero) in bag
Life straw in back
Leatherman Juice xe6 in bag
Fire Kit in bag
Mechanix gloves in bag

I carry:

1 Springfield XDM .45 Subcompact - In case of Ninjas on motorcycles
1 Single blade pocket knife(lately a ZT0566BW) - In case of Ninjas attacking me in the streets, parking garages, parks, forests..etc
1 Stick of chewing gum - In case I have to bypass an alarm or fix a nuclear reactor, in order to defeat Ninjas
1 Small Purell - To clean wounds from fighting Ninjas, or to create long lasting fire sources for warding off other Ninjas
1 Zippo - To light things on fire.

Knives are interchangeable. Always a >=3.5" modern folder. Often I carry only one but sometimes two. Leatherman Juice CS4 is in the skinith solutions sheath. Phone is taking picture.

I carry a Paramilitary 2 in my front right pocket, wallet and light in the front left.

Leatherman Juice Xe6, belt sheath
foursevens Quark Pro (CR123), belt sheath
3"-4" Blade of the Day, clipped RFP or RRP depending

The only thing I carry besides my keys and cash is a pocket knife of some sort usually. I used to be pretty minimal on my keys but now I have a "girls keychain" full of fobs to enter various places, too many keys, door openers, etc.. In my defense it does have a Sears 4 way screwdriver on it.

At work I unload my pockets into my toolbox and carry a pocket knife, period.

1 large pocket knife pm2 sebenza xm18 size stuff
1 leatherman mut on my backpack
1 survive 4.1 in my backpack
2 flashlights one small streamlight and 1 surefire fury in my backpack.

Firearms and other goodies omitted

Almost current pic of my knives available for EDC. Half of these 20 are actually in my EDC rotation and are carried regularly, clipped in my right front pocket.

Sometimes I carry one of these multitools, usually in addition to my primary folder:

I was carrying one of these 2 lights, but more recently I have gotten a Fenix PD22 and that is what I mostly carry now:

This is an old picture of what I usually carry:

I always have a folder in my right front pocket. There are many other tools I use during my work day, but they all live on my tool belt. Outside of work, I usually only carry a single knife, but I do keep some tool and a flashlight in my car. I don't like to have my pockets full of stuff.

At work, I EDC the following:

RFP - folder, either Strider or Emerson
LFP - Keys
RRP - Wallet
Left Cargo Pocket - Phone and Rite in the Rain pad
Right Cargo Pocket - Hinderer Exterme duty pen, Sharpie, trauma shears, extra nitrile gloves

In my bunker gear I always have a Hinderer Rescue knife, large wire cutters, Leatherman Wave, and a crescent wrench

+ Fixed blade (in pocket sheath)
+ sak classic/some other traditional

I carry

Svord Peasant knife mini wood
Schrade knife (really small one)
P38 can opener
Zippo

It all goes in this little leather pouch I have. Will upload pics in a second

1) Folder in either front left pocket if I'm carrying concealed a handgun (IWB holster on right side) or right back pocket if I'm not carrying. If I'm at work where I can't carry but also spend a lot of time at my desk, it depends on the knife and whether I want to sit on it all day or not.

2) Multi-tool in left back pocket, where it's generally out of the way until I need it.

Edit: I was wrong about that knife being a schrade. Have no idea what it is but some sites say Boker.
