Daily knife

Take a look at the Benchmade Ascent. It now comes with either clip point or drop point in ATS34. Nice knife for $50 range.

You can find the Buck NXT and alot of other great knives at www.dantesknife.com. I've had good luck dealing with them.

Ferret, there you have one recommendation in Finnish.

Sain, kiitos. Luen sen ajatuksella ja kommentoin, kunhan kerkeän. Tämä veitsen hankinta kuuluu seuraavan puolen vuoden projektiini, joten mitään kiirettä en pidä asialla.

Yes, Tommi, I received your mail. Thanks.

And thank you to all of you for the usefull information you gave.

a 710 is a great knife.
Also look at the 350, not as much knife, but a great light carry and does the job.

The new Benchmade 940 Osborne is my new everyday "office" carry; and I'm not even a big BM fan.

Once again (and last time for me, I promise):

About BM 705 is spoken quite a lot here (in this forum).

Separate from that I'd like to hear *honest* opinions of it from it's owners.

Any good/bad ones are wellcome.

Is it as good as it is said to be?

Was ít's blade dull (as some people claims)?

I'm throwing heads and tails should I buy Calypso or 705.

I have a couple of BMs (one, "retired" and one fixed blade) and like them. So I'd like to buy 705, but what if I get "a piece of junk" (was it too strong impression?9?

Should I change brand and get Spectre?

I would go with the Spyderco Calypso Jr. Lightweight. I have both: BM 705 and Spyderco Calypso Jr Lt and for everyday carry, there is no competition. The very low weight of the Calypso makes you forget that you are wearing a knife whatsoever, the VG-10 steel is suberb and the grip is very good. But the thing I like most is the shape of the blade. It´s flat grounded, easy to sharpen, it´s broad, very handy while slicing a finnish sausage

and it keeps the edge sharp for a very long time! And then there is the price tag. The BM is twice as expensive

From experience, the BenchMade 350 by Mel Pardue is what I recommend WITH THE POCKET CLIP REMOVED it is ultra thin but strong and sits nice deep in the pocket. ALSO it is acceptable by the airlines for travel as long as you get the NON serrated.
