Charlie Dake has long been considered the master of the high-end DA automatic. They are truly as good as it gets for this type of knife. I have collected Dakes since I started knife collecting, from what I understand, he won't be making knives any more, a shame, since nobody does it better IMO.

His hallmarks are top grade materials and damascus, overbuilt, very robust mechanisms, very strong, yet smooth lockback designs, and incredible filework. They also have a flow and elegance not often found on large folders.

In any case, this one is a one of a kind, because his covert release buttons which look like flush escutcheons in the handle scales are always some sort of damascus, on this one knife however, he made the button from black pearl. So, you have a killer, very radiant white pearl handle with a flush, perfectly fitted black pearl escutcheon that's actually a semi-hidden release button for the auto mode, if you didn't know, youd swear it was just a decorative escutcheon, but press it down a bit, and the blade kicks open with authority, and perfectly every time. Of course the knife can be operated as a normal manual lockback with the pearl inlayed stud as well.

The white pearl is amazingly nice with great color and depth, as is the super detailed damascus, the blade damascus is so finely layered it has a very distinct optical illusion sort of quality, it could probably hypnotize someone were they to stare at it for too long, its some of the tightest damascus Ive seen.

The blade is centered, no play, action super smooth, lockup superb, no flaws on the knife, perfect function. This is his double bolster version, generally a bit pricier. Also, as you can see, the filework is extremely fine.

This knife would be priced just under $2,000 on a website, I'll take $1895 shipped insured Priority, or, the best, close offer. PayPal OK with no fees, otherwise a US postal MO is good too. If you use PayPal, I will only ship to a confirmed address. Unless I know you and we've dealt before, I would like to keep this sale in the USA.

First to email me at ari@thefossilgallery.com and say they'll take it gets it shipped to their door in 2 days.

What is the blade length and total length? [never mind, just re-read the title, which says 4" blade, so I'm guessing overall length is maybe 8-1/2"]

Gorgeous knife . . . .

Unfortunately this one is sold as of this AM, thanks to all who made me offers, much appreciated. Ari
