Here is the latest knife out of my shop.
It is a "True Custom" made to customer specifications (like most of my work) and is 100% hand made.
The overall length is 10 3/4" with a 5 1/2" blade. The handle is a bit long for me, but the customer can palm a watermelon hahaha
The Damascus is a 9-bar Damascus twist, made from three bars of 380 layer 1095 and L-6 and six bars of 60 layer 1095/15n20/203-e, each twisted and the bars welded together. The pictures don't show the Damascus well, but it's the best I can do at this time.

The handle is hard rock flame maple that was dyed dark brown and then black for a multidimensional look. The collar is silver roses and the guard is German Silver, pins are mosaic.

You may notice the silver collar is a bit wide as the guard, this is so the customer can a positive lock with the thumb rested in the file worked blade swell and the index finger locked on the collar. I feel the function outweighs the slight disruption of the flow of the knife.

I would appreciate any comments you may have, good or bad.

Thanks,

Very nice Dale, I like the damascus. I wish I could see the flame pattern in the wood, I bet it looks great.

Gorgeous in both detail and line. A very nice balance between blade and handle and very complementary shapes between the two. The slight disruption is just fine with me becaause it's so obviously ergonomic and so, to me, attractive.
Love the damascus from what I can see in the photo.
Really, really nice.

Damn nice job!! I like the flow of the overall design. Very cool. What type of sheath?

Thank you for your kind words,
The photography does not give her justice.
The sheath is a black, molded 9oz leather cross-draw.

Thanks,
