I had plenty of negative things to say - so it is time to say a good thing about Dale.

I received a full refund and some extra in the mail today. While I would have much rather had the knife and avoided all the negativity - he did make good.

I certainly hope Dale gets things back on track. My apologies to him and all who read this for my harsh posts.

Interesting how many people jump on a bash-fest threads, but this remains silent.

Dale is great guy, and a good friend. Like many artisans, making hand made products, delays can happen.

Dale will always come out on top because he is honest and makes a great product.

On top?

Let's see, Old Hippy had to resort to posting a complaint about Dale in order to get his knife. By the time he got it, the numerous empty promises (by Dale) soured him on the deal to the point that he can't pick up the knife without having negative feelings about it. This is a fate I'm looking forward to.

Vashooter had a similar experience. Only difference is that vashooter finally got fed up and demanded his money back. While Dale did comply, I'd hardly call that coming out on top.

Me, I've been waiting on two knives from him for over a year and a half. I too have gotten numerous empty promises. The most recent was a week and a half ago. He said:

" I will not make excuses. I will get your knives finished and in your hand within a week. I will send you pics to prove it. I know this has gone on too long."

That week passed a couple of days ago, and once again, no word from Dale.
I'm starting to think I'm clairvoyant.

You really shouldn't post a challenge like that or people are going to come here and state why they didn't respond to this thread. It is fine to have delays as long as you keep people informed. Missing delivery date after delivery date, and not communicating with the customer to tell them why, is not okay. It is obvious that he is not dishonest, but if that is how he treats customers, he has incredibly poor business sense. Being honest and making a good product is not all there is to running a business.

There is no need to apologize for your "harsh" post. He had your money and you had no knife.

I'm glad for you that he sent the money back but he still never completed the knife. Due to this I don't think any apology is necessary.
