Managed to get my oldest up and headed to the show today. Saw a couple knives I wish I could of brought home, but the wife said "No Buying". There was a Valley Forge Jack I really wanted, a couple of Scout knives, and I had fun playing with the upcoming automatic Clasp Knife by Queen.

Nice collection of Jimmy Liles

Some real nice customs. It was a tie between the T.A. Davidson & the Menefee for me.

A Moon Machete. Some Queen knives. Sadly none of my pics of the Queen automatic Clasp knife came out real well. This was the best of 4.

Couple #14 TC Barlows & one #15 TC Barlow. Different versions of the new GEC #13 pattern. My favorite was the old Morseth fixed blade.

Nice collection of Scout knives. Loved the Coke knives. Some very nice Diamond Edges. My favorite though was the Valley Forge Jack with rat-tail bolsters.

The corkscrews cracked me up. The bar knives were cool looking. The Reese Bose SBJ was beautiful. Of these my favorite was the Lile Arkansas Toothpick.

No, Friday and Saturday only. I picked up one of the #14 Lick Creek TC Barlows. I was temped with that Todd Davison you have a picture of. I guess you saw the mammoth ivory Davisons that that were there. The show was clearly dominated by traditional knives, both folders and fixed blades.

I enjoyed this show. As mentioned in my thread, I spent too much money. Such is life.

Wow!!! Thanks for sharing! I wish there was something like that in my area! Lots of great looking knives!!

Gafishing - yea I knew nothing about this show till a few days ago. I just bought 2 Spydercos so my knife buying was cut short till next month. Trade knives I brought no one was interested in so No Knives for me.

.22-rimfire - yea that Davison was my favorite of his.

I bought one of his Davisons. As you might guess it was at a premium over issue price, but I'll live. I have a link over on the show announcement thread I started. I just couldn't resist the Davison I purchased. The lack of bolsters raised a little concern, but it didn't need them.

Gafishing, I started a thread on Thursday letting people know that the show was being held. Maybe I should have done that earlier in the week as one day's notice is often not enough for people to react. Honestly, I wasn't sure it was permissible to start a thread like that in Traditional. This is not the kind of show you travel long distances for to attend generally.

Was a great show & I'm glad I went. Just made for a long day given the drive. I was able to pick up a few nice ones that I'm tickled with.

I wonder if I wasn't standing beside you, Halfneck, at least part of the time when Ken was showing off the Queen auto to you? This person had a boy with him that looked to be 12 or 13 years old, I'd guess. Were you also part of a brief discussion I had w' a dealer there about GEC, just a few tables in front of Ken? If memory serves we were talking about how quick moving some of the GEC patterns were here lately.

Thanks for the pics! It's always nice to get a peek at a live show!!

biglmbass - yea that was most likely me & my 15(16 in a few days) son. I was wearing a brown flannel shirt.

Thanks guys
I'll keep an eye out for the next one.

Also, there is gonna be a bladesmithing event next weekend at tracrock.
I'm pretty sure there will be knives for sale in that one.

What is "tracrock"?

This GA show was generally a yearly show held in March. I found it by Googleing it about a month ago as I attended this show two years ago. The next one held by Bruce Voyles will be held in Pigeon Forge TN at the convention center in November. I think that is a bigger show. Just not many knife shows anymore. Blade of course is in early June in Atlanta. I intend to be there, but this little Dalton show has put a crimp into my fun money fund that I use for Blade.

Bit of a sidetrack - if you are ever in Dalton, Ga. or driving by around lunch time I highly recommend you stop by Willie's Burger Shack & Fish Fry. It's one of those hole in the wall places that only locals know about. While the boy and I were there I watched Willie, who is in his 70s I'd guess, hop behind the line to help them catch up. If you are lucky they have their pulled pork Cuban sandwich on the menu.
