Dalton Ga. Knife Show Pics

What is "tracrock"?

This GA show was generally a yearly show held in March. I found it by Googleing it about a month ago as I attended this show two years ago. The next one held by Bruce Voyles will be held in Pigeon Forge TN at the convention center in November. I think that is a bigger show. Just not many knife shows anymore. Blade of course is in early June in Atlanta. I intend to be there, but this little Dalton show has put a crimp into my fun money fund that I use for Blade.

It's the name of a campground in blairsville, ga
And on 3/24 and 3/25 it's an event where bladesmiths get together and show stuff, sell stuff.
It's free and there will be anvils where kids could pound some steel. Etc

Bit of a sidetrack - if you are ever in Dalton, Ga. or driving by around lunch time I highly recommend you stop by Willie's Burger Shack & Fish Fry. It's one of those hole in the wall places that only locals know about. While the boy and I were there I watched Willie, who is in his 70s I'd guess, hop behind the line to help them catch up. If you are lucky they have their pulled pork Cuban sandwich on the menu.

Will do
Thanks for the tip

Blairsville GA is a nice little town. Is the campground up on the mountain or down in the valley around the lake or the town itself?

I've done a couple jobs in Blairsville and stayed at motels in Blue Ridge and Blairsville. Home Depot was a high point there. ;) They also have a great Ace Hardware that sells all kinds of stuff. Almost bought a boat there a couple years ago.

I googled Trackrock and it appears to be a commercial campground (cabins and camp sites) vs state park. It is located in the valley southeast of Blairsville at the base of the mountains. These are big mountains as the Appalachians go (Blue Ridge). I am going to mark this on my calendar and see what comes up for next weekend.

I face that kind of decision yearly with BLADE in Atlanta. If the funds aren't there for me to be myself at a show, I usually don't attend. Been going to Blade since the early 1990's.

Here's some threads over at Fiddleback Forge Forum about it. For me, its the highlight of my camping year.

It's just good folks standing around talking knives and mashing metal. Super kid friendly and a great family outing.
