Nice Jaxx!

That blade looks like it's paid for itself... at least! Lookin good now though!

From the Ka-Bar forum...

Below is an example of sharpening as well as an example of how NOT to lose it over a minor edge ding.
I took a ding while chopping some of the pecan because I hit a small rock embedded in my chopping stump.
Here it is after I hammered it back into place and steeled it a bit.

Then I just took a file and matched the angle of the edge. A few passes on each side, and the ding disappeared from sight.

Nice fix Guyon

How big of file did you use? One of the big mill bastards or like a small gunsmithing file?

Thanks Amy,
I had no doubt you all would take care of it if asked, but I made the mess so I'd like to try to clean it up. If I mangle it so badly that I'm ready to give up then I'll send it to you all :)

Cheers,
Fred

Whatever we can do to make you happy:):) Good Luck and I am sure you will do fine:thumbup:

Update. As suggested I rolled the edge out as well as I could. Then I put it on my belt sander for a couple of light passes with a 400 grit belt then a leather belt. There are still two small chips out of the edge but nothing that's going to affect the performance of it. Another couple of sharpenings and they'll gone too. Thanks for all of the advice, hogs!
