Call me strange, but for some reason I prefere Autos with plain steel blades. Now put some damscus on the bolsters, or as the back-spring, and I'll start selling organs!

I prefer a double action auto. Very unassuming because you can open it as any
folder and when needed you can open it in
a hurry.

I prefer ladder, twist or Darrel Ralph blued designer damascus

Should be heat treated so that it is hard enough to be functional and etched for beauty. Stainless enough to not rust in your pocket and maybe have some CPM or BG-42 in it.

I'll reserve comment for now.

Only Brother D knows for sure how long...

Umm Brian,
Can not wait to see it. My immagination is running wild on that one.

I also have a hankering for a Dake 2 bladed auto as well as an auto from Brother D. Guess those and what is in the works blows my knife budget until some time in 2005.

Here are a couple photos of a Jeff Harkins Shard I picked up at the Vegas Classic show. If you look closely, you can just see the trapdoor release. Jeff's interframe autos give me major wood! To my way of thinking, these almost invisible, hand inlaid trapdoors are the most elegant auto releases around. Given the size of the button (about the size of your thumb print), it's impressive that most people can't figure out how to open it.

I assume this question wasn't for me D

'cause you already hear it all the time from me. What the hell once more won't hurt...That heat coloring in the mosaic blades is too cool, polished and blued is always sweet as well, and PEARL, lots of pearl, preferably black lip but gold lip or even brown would work in a pinch. D/A is an added bonus, frame lock I could take or leave...Depends on how the back side looks. Style, well you know I like the old un-practical stuff best: neo-persian medeival looking "Merlin Special" can of wizard whoop-ass. Gold would be nice with someone else's budget, as would gemstones inlaid in the spine. Well I guess that about sums it up.

I'll admit to not having alot of experience with damascus auto's. But boy guiness, have you ever thought of a career in knife design? That sounds like one gorgeous knife even if I couldn't afford it

! That didn't just give me wood, it gave me the whole forest!

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

OTF's with charging handles, good handle to blade ratio (while retaining spring power)and nice buttons. (abalone)

Wood or pearl scales are a nice touch.

Later,
John

P.S. Darrel if your interested in making an OTF I'm interested in paying. I love your stuff bro.

WOW Thanks for the comments. Maybe this thread will make the fire rating soon. As for you G well I could have guessed. Scorpion damascus with all the gold and pearl goodies.
um hum.

OTF yes I have a design for one BUT I have been working on it for a few years and have knife orders to deliver when it comes to roost. I like OTF'S very much.. They should go through a bus seat when fired though and retract on there own. hahahah.
