ha , bucksway (my bro) is in fla at a show and was talking with the owner of
Alabama Damascus
and he told Clint that he had jest sent off 3 samples of different paterns to
Blue Ridge Knives
to pick from and that Alabama Damascus will send enough to
Buck
to make a limited run of
100 or more
Damascus Bladed Buck 110's:eek::eek::eek::eek:
for Blue Ridge Knives ..
i have seen some of the patterns they make and they are sweet!

any one else heard of this yet?
CJ - ?
Joe - ?
Sarah - ?
Pete - ?
i wander if any of you guys would buy one?

I just got off the phone with Bucksway and he told me the same thing about the Alabama Damascus for BMK and he was having a good time showing his 112 collection at the Gator show in FL ...

i would buy one. if it were a stainless damascus, i would even use it. if it isn't, then it would be stored away and looked at every now and again.

i do not know if they do stainless also..
i have seen their carbon steel at the shows and it looks great!

They've made runs for Kershaw. I have a Leek with one of their blades. Of course, Bear & Sons uses them, too. Nothing like the teardrop Buck's Custom Shop had - my 110 with it is the prettiest Damascus I own.

Stainz

Stainz that is Devin Thomas stainless damascus. It cost $17.50 an inch for 1/8" bar stock. Back when I ordered my two BG-42 from Pete, I asked him if Damascus was available and they still had some or were waiting on an order but the cost was $100 for that option which as it turns out is not much more than break-even.

I have recently acquired a 110 with that tear drop blade and I'm delighted with it.

Is the Alabama damascus SS?

Even if they don't you can always buy a blade and have it put in your Buck. There is a knivemaker on ebay that sells replacement blades just put snakeriverknives in the search window. I know at least one forum member here bought one of his blades for a Benchmark and was very happy with it. Here is a Buck example

guess Joe and them dont check forums on weekends
was really hopping to hear on this from them..
i might call Alabama or BRK on monday to check further..

Just back from the show! I had a great time!!!!!! I will tell all of yall here there are a lot of worse ways to spend a weekend than hanging out with a huge crowd of Buck fans! By count 8 or 9 custom makers had knives made of Alabama steel ... He was well known and everyone praised him personaly and his steel. So Buck will be in good company if it works out. There was no mention of the number of 110's in this run but Im sure it wont be over 2 or 3 hundred...4 or 5 folks out back [loading dock/smoking lounge] said they would buy one.

I'll have to check out that Damascus stuff someday ;)

I do like the toothy carbon (sirius cutting stuff) but that SS looks sweet...if IIRC.

yea guy check it out in black horn...hee hee
yep ss looks ok
i like the carbon better!

Joe has not heard yet on the DM blades
BRK has confermed that this is an inprogress action.
nothing in stone as yet and if it comes about it will late in the year..
Larry Oden can buy from Blue Ridge Knives
But we can not!
knife dealers ONLY..
so it could be that we can put a order in with Larry and buy them that way..
had said of that it was on fhe forum and Pete said he would check in to it so any talk on it willl generate positive waves !!

Yep...I like that carbon for EDC.
BUT, I've not cut a thing w/ the serrated horn since a BBF sent it to me.
One of my "treasures". Not just because of the serrated Damascus, but because of who entrusted me with it.
Ok, I'm getting all weepy eyed...gotta go find a tissue.

Middle knife...

use the tissues with alovera on them.. :)
but dont clean your glasses with one!:thumbdn::grumpy:

BTW has any one else noticed the diff in the finger groving on the two?
both are factory yet you can tell it is a hand operation..

I was told that the custom shop does have damascus blades again but the option wont be listed on the web site because of how fast they sell out. My advice would be to give Pete a call at Buck and check with him.
That Devin Thomas damascus is just beyond incredible. I know I could never bring myself to actually use one of his blades but I sure wonder how they cut.

i have owned some devin thomas damascus before. it is incredible.

do you know if it is stainless steel or black and white damascus?

Gotta decide on brass or nickel bolsters with koa. May go brass this time...think Five-O mentioned the koa/brass combo looks good.
