Rather than tack onto an old thread, I thought I'd post this.
Is this the stag version you guys were talking about?
I got it from my Dad in the 80's. Blade says 110V. :D
That was before The Custom Shoppe, were there many made?

I'll try to post a blade pic as well.

A "V" indicates 1989 mfg.

As for Damascus, the last 110 run was a rain drop pattern stainless of 50 units.
A little jake told me that there have been ~11M 110 knives made. Of that, ~10K have been Damascus. ~0.00009%.

VERY knice knife BTW.

Hi ya BobbyB, Haven't seen you pop in here lately!

I think a whole bunch of us have that same DM Stag 110. Same year marks have shown up in numerous pics of the DM 110.

Cat number on my box is #1684 if someone can track it by that.

I did a check of catalog number 1684, which I am pretty sure is your knife, and we made about 13K of them from 1989 to about 1991.
Are the bolsters brass or nickle silver on yours? Its hard to tell from the pictures but we may as well check just in case.
I hope this helps.

Mine is NS. Looks just like the one BobbyB posted. Same 1989 V. Seems I have seen several others just like these posted here by several of the guys.

Mine is the one I posted once in a pic where we were talking about ageing (yellowing ) of the stag.

Something just clicked in the semi-dead brain cells. After looking at BobbyB's pics (good shots btw)
and looking at my blade. None of the DM blades I recall looking at, look alike. Just never thought about this "snowflake" effect....

Nickle silver. Joe, you've seen this one before, it came home for a tune-up a few years back.

I never had the box for mine. Knife was handed to me in sheath... that was actually the SECOND Buck my dad gave me, the first was a Bucklite, I still have that here too. The third he gave me I foolishly sold - a Nighthawk... At least that can be replaced somewhat more easily.

Hey there Pack Rat! I haven't been in in a while... I laid off posting for a while - about 2.5 years. Newer job, and more time for the kid... need a newer picture... Now I'm laid off, so I have some more time right now to catch up...:o

Thanks for the compliment on the shot(s), I took a few today.

Thanks for the info guys!

Ephiphany???!!! Sheesh goose! Now I gotta find my dictionary so I'll know what the heck you're talking about....

goose those are all nice pattern damascus
i like the center serrated one the best (i dont have one of those) :D
i dont think i care for the scale pins in the buffalo one but what do you think when you handle it and the ones without pins

I have an old Buck 110 damascus but unlike the illustration posted by Bobby B , on my 110 the V is upside down and looks like 110A , given that , it is also well worn as used daily for the past 15 years and sharpened many times to the point that the blade is loose an about 2/3rds its original size ! Question is can this Knife be sent in an the blade replaced ? Or should I keep watching the gun shows for a replacement ? Thanks
