Heres some alabama damascus tapered and hollowed, gettin ready to get dresssed in some copper lined camel.
Ill round and bevel the front of the scales and completetely finish the spine of the exposed damascus and camel, with the intent that this will be my final oppurtunity to shape and finish before final etching and mount up. Once final etch is complete, ill reassemble, cut off copper corbies flush to minimize potential burn during final side shaping of scales, throw some protective tape on any exposed damascus, and proceed to slowly and carefully finish the scales.
Heres some build pics........

Lookin' good. I would imagine that brother Ayers is gonna be a happy camper.

That copper will take care of itself over time.

Thanks Greg! :D:D

I'm looking forward to picking it up! :)

I like the camel bone's warmth. That was the only set I picked up at OKCA in April. I now wish I had picked up several sets.

The best part of the trade for that Wilton was knowing that all those OLD 2"x72" belts that came with it slapped YOU when they broke!!;):eek::eek::eek:

Very nice knife. One minor critique, if I may. Why not line the thonghole?

Thanks guys!

Brian, i had almost forgot about that! But i got good enough to hear it coming though and i couldnt let those belts at least die noble death!!

Danbo, complete oversight.. when i chamfered it i asked myself the same thing???

Greg

Greg, I'm really liking that butterscotch colored bone with the copper. Really cool combo buddy!

I really like the simple way you've solved drilling your tapered tangs. Good looking setup.
