Greetings all,
This one arrived safely today. We don't see too very many pieces in damascus from Matt Lamey, so this one is a little bit of a departure in terms of materials, but still recognizably Lamey in the lines.
Dimensions are 9 1/2" blade, 1, 3/4" wide, 1/4" thick at the ricasso with a 14 1/4" overall length.
The knife really has the feel of a fighting bowie to me, with the angled and flared damascus double guard giving it an aggressive look and the good balance giving it a lively feel.
And as with every Lamey knife, this one comes with an edge that is nothing less than scary sharp along its entire length. Oh, and that loooong clip is sharper than a few primary cutting edges I have come across in my time.
As usual, Paul made exactly the right sheath for the knife:
It's not often that I get a damascus bowie that I feel is just begging to be used, but this is one of those pieces.
Well done Matt.
Roger
