Damascus and Mahogany Stag

Hey all,
Sorry for the late post I have not visited the site for a couple of months and did not realize Lin had posted this. I don’t think I’ve posted here before but have lurked here for a while.

Lin made this knife for me and I would like to comment on what a great experience it has been working with him on this project. He has been very patient and done his best to accommodate any and all changes that I requested during the design process and has been happy to share his knowledge and expertise about the build details that only knife people care about.

Beyond how well the knife turned out I’ve been lucky to get to know Lin and count him as a friend. Thank you much bud for a job well done.

Initially this was intended to be a carbon steel user, but that long wait works on a guy and I couldn’t shake off the damascus lust that has taken hold of me. So the final basic specs were stag, S guard, all damascus and ready to go to the ends of the earth.

Looks like Lin nailed it. All that is left now is a suitable sheath and it will be ready to hit the hills with me.

Just wanted to update this with pictures of the sheath made by Paul Long. The pictures will speak for themselves, but Paul was outstanding to deal with, and even though he was loaded down with work from the ABS show he still had this sheath back in my hands 7 days after I mailed the knife to him. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with him.

Leather and gator skin, always the best way to dress a Bowie knife.

lucky dog, one of my favorites by Lin ever. I nominated as one of the best bowies of 2011 thread. great leather by paul too, a bottom dollar combo by all accounts.
