Damascus and Stag Fighter by John White, MS

The ultra crisp ladder pattern blade is 4.75" long and the knife is 9.50" overall. The fittings are a combination of 416 stainless and fileworked silicon bronze. The handle is amber sambar stag with mosaic pins. The knife is stamped JS. It comes with a zippered case. A gorgeous knife from one of the best, without the two year wait. The fit and finish are superb, as clean as it gets.

I have figured out that the knife does NOT have a sheath and have lowered the price accordingly. :o

Todd sent me a very good question about my pricing of this knife.

-------------------------

...I've seen a few online in the $495 range. Why is yours so much more (not trying to low-ball you, I'm really interested in knowing why)? I'm a newbie in knives but yours caught my eye.

Todd

Just for reference, this is the knife Todd saw, that was sold, on Les Robertson's site for $495.

Todd,

Perfectly fair question.

1. The blade is 4.75" clip point versus 4.25" drop point
2. Double guard versus single guard
3. The guard is stainless and silicon bronze versus nickle silver
4. Higher level of file work
5. Sambar Stag versus wooden handle
6. Hand made mosaic pins versus nickle silver pins
7. The ladder pattern Damascus is tighter and cleaner
8. I think it is a better looking design
9. It is actually available for sale

Whether that is worth the $150 differential is up to you.

Best,

Peter
