Some end of the billet steel from my forge; raindrop pattern of 15N30 and 1084. I don't remember how many layers but it is around 125.

Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure

Flat grind

Professionally stabilized figured and spalted maple handle with Micarta and brass guard

Overall length is 8 inches overall with a 3 3/4 inch blade

Very nice, cool that you are using leftover materials to create a pretty and still useful tool. what is the steel composition?
