Damascus & Carbon Fiber

Kit if you really want that knife to look old send it to me and I'll let my wife use it in the kitchen for a week. :)
They look darn good to me.

That damascus folder made it worth while logging on just by itself.
I really admire that fine pattern. The fit finish and all over quality
very impresive. Thanks for the posting.

Wonderful work Kit!

Either everyone here already knows how you did that or are afraid to ask, but I have to know:

On the convexfighter you have hand rubbing lines going lengthwise and a round plunge cut.

1. Did you hand rub the finish on a convex grind - how?

2. How in the world did you get a round plunge cut on a platen? doesn't that require a disk grinder?

Steve,
With the rotary platen, you can run the belt out a little past the edge and it will "soften" the plunge. Can't think of a better way to describe it.
It was all shiny when I finished so I etched and blued the blade and fittings and hand polished them back to get the "old" look.
This knife sure was a change from what I normally do on a day to day basis. I'll have it at Trackrock for those that want to see it.
