Bruce! That is the most appealing knife of yours I have seen posted. It pushes all my buttons and displays great lines and form. Very nice work.

By 'wood-grain' damascus, do you mean 'edge-grain' damascus? (where the billet is turned ninety degrees before flattening to form the blade). You do not see this pattern very much, but it gives those great bold lines along the length of the blade, and it is a good test for weld strength in the billet.

Anyway, I love the lines and colors in that knife. The forward canted guard is great. I am still a little confused about how to define a 'chute' knife other than to say a small fighter, but whatever you want to call this one, I like it. A lot!

Thanks for sharing Bruce.

I think you have a really nice knife there, Bruce. It has great lines and the overall look is very appealing. I love the damascus. Very well done.

Keith.

What Para said.

Very nice looking knife Bruce. Thanks for putting it up.

For those of you who have not seen the work Bruce has done on his site including the Tutorials, it is worth visiting.

Okay, got this in the hand since yesterday.

In addition to being beautiful, it's very comfortable in hand. Nothing like a customknife.

The stock is 1/8" thick and Bruce used a dasmascus piece that surrounds the hidden tang before adding on the stag slabs. The balance is slightly behind the guard as a result. This doesn't detract from a relatively small fighter. However, for those interested in a balance at the guard, you may ask Bruce to work with a 3/16" stock that he has used in some of the other knives I have from him.

The slightly tinted nickle silver guard that Bruce was worried about actually gives the knife a unique look and fits into the whole overall.

I am out of superlatives to describe Bruce's work. Folks into custom bladesmith pieces should seriously check out his work. I am sure I'll come with some other idea to run by Bruce in the future. Hopefully, the line won't be too long as it has already gotten a lot longer than when I contacted him for my first blade.
