Damascus Dagger

Dagger with Three-Bar Damascus Blade - two bars of twist Damascus on the edges with serpent bar between them. German Silver fittings with stabilized Ebony handle. Stippled guard face. Overall length is 14 1/4 inches. The blade is 9 inches long by about 7/8 inch wide. The blade is all tool steel (1084/15N20). With sheath with German silver Chape and Locket with frog . $750 Visa/MC, Paypal, money order, cash, jelly beans

That is beautiful. Very reasonably priced. It almost makes a guy wonder if there's something wrong. LOL. It must have taken a while to make that set up. Nice work.

The sheath is the first one I have made of that style and it turned out much better than I thought it would, although I would like to have had better solder joints at the top of the locket. If you turn it upside down you can see some small gaps in the joint. I was going to make the next one with sterling silver but sterling is at about $10 an ounce now and the cost of the raw materials was in excess of $100.

The Damascus could be a bit clearer up near the guard, I have done better. But overall I am pretty satisfied with the piece. I'll do better on the next one.
