Just finished up this little drop point hunter in 1084/15N20 damascus. With wssi stabilized double dyed (orange/black) box elder burl. 3.25" BL and 7.5" OAL Nickle silver pin and tube. Since today is my birthday I think I might keep this one, unless I decide to sell it lol

What do you all think?

Nice job.

A few tips:
A slight drop in the butt makes a good compliment to the drop in the tip.
The small pointed tip on the handle at the bottom of the ricasso is very fragile. It will snap off easily....especially in burl wood. When one side breaks, just tape up the blade and carefully trim them to a rounded nose on the handle. Use a sharp knife blade and a small file to do this. In the future, try and avoid this, as it will be a warranty problem on knives you sell.

this bar of damascus was just barely over 1" wide so didnt have much wiggle room to begin with. I agree it would look better with more drop to the butt and more of a finger relief. I used thin G10 liners so triming the points at the front might be a bit more tricky but I think I'll try. I appreciate the constructive critisism.

I eventually do want to try my hand at hidden tang construction, but my first try wont be in damascus lol Maybe I should have saved this piece untill I could have made a hidden tang from it..... oh well it is what it is now :)

Wow it looks great! Did you forge the damascus yourself or purchase a block of it?

Very nice.

Are your lanyard tubes flared, or flat and chamfered on the inside. If chamfered, how did you do it?

They are flat and chamfered. I used a 1/4" drill bit in the cordless drill with the knife clamped in the vise using leather pads to keep from marring the finish
