Just curious, does anyone carry their damascus knives regularly or in a EDC carry rotation?
Pics would be nice also.

Yes...

Rob Dalton custom kerambit. Chad Nichols stainless raindrop damascus.

Several of the folks who post in the Traditional Forum carry their Damascus blades on a regular basis.

When hard used it can get a little messy looking. The etch will wear off in spots and scratches are pretty obvious.

I occasionally carry my Skyline Damascus. I love that knife and got lucky when I started a thread about knives we regretted not buying in the past and mentioned that, than someone posted that within the last few days kershawguy just got them in. So I bought one, best forum post I ever made and one of the few threads I have ever made in my life. No point in having a knife if you're not going to use it.

I have a dress FrankenLeek with Damascus blade that I carry on occasion. It only sees light duty, though.

Carried a damascus lockback for a couple of years. Works just fine. It does show scratches and wears off the darker colours in the etch sometimes. But unlike a polished blade it's quite easily to restore. Just a quick dip in acid (vinegar for instance) and it's fine again.

Also, to me the fact that it's already a busy visual blade means the scratches don't stand out as much. I've found the same thing with engraved bolsters. It actually hides wear in my eyes.

When we speak of "etched" are we talking about true Damascus or acid etched, not clear?

I think they're referring to true damascus being treated with an etchant to bring out the contrast between the different metal layers (some oxidise quicker and become darker) kind of like a forced patina.

I carried a Parker-Edwards damascus Buck-style lockback for about 10-15 years. No problems, just kept it clean and sharpened occasionally. Retired it when I retired. Now carry a SAK Tinker and a Colt linerlock in D2.

All of my customs have been EDC'd, even the $2200 DDR.

How are you liking the Armor Core? How does it hold up in use?

Chad Nichols M390 core has held up great. This knife is my only experience with that steel but it makes a great user.

I EDC a William Henry B-15 with a laminated blade. The bread in the sandwich is stainless ladder Damascus; the bologna is ZDP-189. I can't post pictures anymore. They get erased by a censor who declares that I use an invalid link. The same censor cannot direct me to a valid link.
