hey everybody!
sorry i am making these rapid fire posts.. but when it rains it pours.. and these have all been almost ready..a dn all just finished at the same time.
i posted pics in the custom area and gallery too..

this knife is my first truly laminate steel blade..low layer count.. 36 i think, all hand forged, and the wrought iron was picked up near a 17th century wharf on the James river.

some knives you fight the whole way.. and some just come together.. this one just came together very nicely, but doesnt look anything like what i had planned on... those darn unplanned design modifications! ;)

Specs:
13.5" OAL
8.5" 1095/1075/W1 blade 1/4' thick distal tapered from the guard
Stabilized maple burl
brass and micarta spacers, mosaic pin
Wrought iron guard
Active hamon, parks #50 quench

the knife is very much a fighter, light and lithe in the hand. it really has to be held.. it just.. works. i dont know.. i like it.

I am asking $695 for this blade, but am open to reasonable offers. i prefer paypal but i can work with what works best for you. If you are interested, please let me know at:

i would appreciate your comments and criticisms

I always look forward to seeing your new posts in here.

Great work. I actually like the "low-layer" on the edge.

Good looking knife. Based on the pictures, I guess it's a pretty good sized knife. I can't quote exactly until I have some more information, but a sheath from me for that knife would run about $150. You can see my work scattered all over this site. There are some sheaths similar to what that knife would require in the Customs and Handmade forum. Just use search for Paul Long or "sheathmaker"
