Hey folks, I got a batch back from the grinding shop last week. Here's what is in stock right now. All steel comes precision blanchard ground and spheroidize annealed. As always with my steel carries my guarantee against defects in materials or workmanship and I'll send you specific heat treating instructions with your order. All pictures have been slightly adjusted to enhance the contrast on the light etch I do. All pieces are slightly oversized and measurements are based on the largest perfectly clear dimension. For example, some of the twist-based patterns may have slight edge inclusions. These areas are not counted in measured size or price. I'd just rather leave that little bit of extra steel for you guys to work with.

First off, for the folder makers. You asked, and I listened!

Piece 1: "H-Twist" pattern.
1/8"x1"x4"
1084/15n20/Wrought Iron (< 5% WI for color)
$40

Notes: I wish I had more of this. It was a hit at the Lewisburg, PA knife show this past weekend. If you look closely at the left hand side of the billet you will see some wide bands of high layer activity. This steel will be fantastic when fully finished.

Thanks David!

I'm moving some stuff to a new server. Thought we were all settled there, but I guess something's broken. I'll get it fixed ASAP.

BTW the twist with the high layer bar twisted in looks much better in person as its jsut had to get a good pic of it

Hey D, on that H-twist did you weld wrought iron and 1084 together and then use that in place of the normal 1084? From what I see it looks like that but my eyes could be playing tricks. Either way nice steel bud!

It's hard to make out in the pictures. What it was was a billet of 1084/15n20 with a hunk of wrought wagon wheel about 4"x2"x3/4" on top of it like a wart. That got worked down to 300ish layers and then I added in some more 1084/15n20 to bring out the bold lines. That's why there are bands of very high activity along with the bold. I've got something else along this line running around in my mind for the next batch.

Thanks for the kind words.
