Damascus Good for EDC?

I would EDC it all day long. That to me is why I would have bought the knife for. To look at it and you can't do that if it's sitting in a drawer at home.
The carbon Damascus is beautiful but in my opinion isn't great for EDC. It will rust. The most recent stainless isn't as attractive but is worry free.

Hey! the "Most Recent Stainless (Damascus)", has the same carbon steel, inbetween the ss swirls. Almost as much chance of rust.

SS Damascus just looks better, functionally the same. The whole blade is not Stainless Steel.

I'm about 8 months into an order for a CGG small Seb with Damascus. I can't wait and it will get carried.

Then why does the black part rust and show corrosion? The Blade is not all SS, it is a mixture. I've cleaned rust off the DT SS Raindrop blade on my Seb 21. and it was specs on the darker steel. Is it not possible that the mixture on steels that DT uses can vary?

I think the most reasonable blade steel to edc is the s30v with the stonewashed finish. That's what it's for. Anything else will be harder to maintain and when it scratches up it will look bad.

Anything is possible.. but the steel on mine never came close to rusting.

Stainless steels with few exceptions, are not rust proof and can still rust.
