Damascus hornet double rifle...in progress

Too cool! One question.....why did you choose to forego full length center ribs?
So whats the next project? Something with chopper lump construction?:D

my guess is weight. i imagine a 22 lr and a 22 hornet are on the light side, and additional material for a rib could tip the scale. not to mention when regulating the barrels, they need the ability to move, and a rib would certainly complicate that.

bailey, i loved your single shot build thread. now i have another of yours bookmarked. absolutely fantastic!

Staggering the amount of engineering and precision you are capable of. My collection includes knives by Hill Pearce, who made blackpowder period rifles before knives. He said knives were easy.

Watching your process, I see why he qualified this statement. Yikes!

Today went as follows...... sculpt and shape fences and shoe lump at the breech, then...polish polish polish polish polish polish... deep breath....polish polish polish polish polish...

Here is my engraving bench with microscope. I do a lot of fitting and finishing under 10x magnification.

I do have a manufacturer's Federal firearms license. I have to keep records and do background checks on anyone buying a rifle from me, unless they have a concealed carry license.
