Let's get this clear at the outset: It's the smaller of the two knives pictured below. :)

I know, I know - the sweater was nice and the socks are real comfy, but Santa didn't quite fulfill your sharp steel dreams. I can fix that.

Bailey's work is of the highest caliber and this is a sweet little piece. I say "little" only because it looks small next to its 12" bladed big brother.

Specs are as follows:

  • 5 1/2" blade of W1 / L6 damascus, overall length of 10 1/8".
  • integral construction
  • premium snakewood handle
  • gold inlay in blade and bolster

It's a solid piece of versatile design - call it a big clip point hunter, a small fighter or an all-round utility piece and it will play that role and look very good doing so. The gentle recurve combines with the aggressive clip to give this piece a look that is both elegant and purposeful.

Attnetion to detail is first rate - check out how the beveled spine flows seemlessly along the blade, through the integral bolster and is then continued throughout the length of the snakewood handle. Nice. The gold inlays on the bolster and blade are an added touch of luxury.

Price is US$895 - inclusive of Paypal (preferred), shipping and leather sheath pictured above.

Oh - and this piece was featured in the most recent Knives annual, for those (like me) that get a bit of a kick out of that sort of thing.

The first "Ill take it" gets it.

My dream knife the moment I first saw it. Have you gone daft, man, or consumed too much Christmas cheer? For breaking up this Bradshaw set (even Kevin would confirm this as a matched set I'm confident) is wicked if not a felony. That said, however, I would grab this in a nano-second if Christmas had not pushed me within 3mm of bankruptcy. Still might try to swing a loan from the devil himself if he does not require me to sacrifice more than one of my kids.

Thanks Ken. :) One of my requirements in any matched set that I commission is that each piece must stand on it's own merits. If separated, neither knife should look "lost" - from an aesthetic or functional standpoint - without the other.

Oddly enough, on each prior occasion that I have offered a matched pair for sale, they have been purchased as separate pieces by different buyers.

I will add that the buyer of this knife automatically gets first dibs on the big one should a real fit of insanity ever prompt its sale - so there will be an opportunity to re-unite the pair.

Knife is SOLD to the Senator, pending payment. Thanks Kelly and thanks to all who inquired.

Payment sent. Ya know, a man could build a nice collection from Roger's, Stephen's, and Danbo's castoffs. I know - I've done it (two Bradshaws and a Roberts.) Now if I could only get Peter to sell me that Russ Andrews Ultimate Utility! ;)

Roger - I can't wait until you sell your Foster laminated fighter. :D

Payment received - thanks.

I've picked up castoffs from most of that bunch as well. ;)

No Ken, not even Kevin, this serves my definition of a matched set. Not just two similar knives being called that.
