Buyers beware, fraudulent seller on big online auction site misrepresenting what is being sold ( surprise ) the picture is of my peanut,

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...et-s-see-your-Peanuts-amp-their-Patinas/page3
from a older thread on the forum, it is definitely not Damascus nor is it I that is selling it, it's in my pocket, I contacted the seller who has claimed not having "his/her" knife to take picture of at time and used mine stating it looks exactly the same. I suggested that he/her change the picture or at the very least change the description to read picture is not of the actual knife you are bidding on, and has not, and claimed that they could not change.
I didn't want anyone on here to bid on this item, as it seems to be not on the up & up. I also did not want someone thinking it was me trying to scam.

Sorry if this is out of line mods, I know that some folks here on the Traditional forum are always on the search for a Damascus peanut and would hate for someone to be taken advantage of.

Some people have no scruples at all. Besides, your peanut is legendary Pete and we know you would never part with it. :)

Well you know Paul, the seller could very well be selling a Damascus nut? Why you would put a pic of a Cv nut up I don't know, Damascus would pull a higher price than CV?
Seller sent me a pic of the knife they are selling, looks red bone? it was a small pic out of focus, I couldn't tell what it is, not sure ? but it's not like Case is a obscure company without plenty of stock photos floating around to use. I know they did a run of chestnut Damascus but not sure when or if they ever did red bone.

Took a few seconds to pull this up

Stich, that pic you put up is from the web site of a legitimate Case Platinum dealer in Greenville, SC. Unless he bought it from them, and then borrowed their picture to go with it, then that's not his knife either.

There was a run of Chestnut Peanuts in Damascus back in 1999. It may have been an SFO from one of the large Case dealers in TN, the shield looks like one they used on some of their SFOs back then.
