damascus question

Hey guys I'm not sure if this allowed but i was wondering what the cheapest place to buy damascus is. I dont care what pattern or even if its made from sewer grates and van bumpers. I am not planning to use the knife and just want to make one as a display piece in my house. But for this purpose i just cant justify spending like 15 bucks an inch on the stuff i have seen listed several places. I would even be interested in small pieces I could buy to make a small knife or even try my hand at using it as a bolster to start with. you can reply or PM me on here, and if this is not an allowed thread I apologise an the mods can delete this if they want. What size of a piece are you looking for and what is your budget? You do not have PM's allowed so PM me or email me.
 
Alabama Damascus is available directly from the makers ( Lacy and Brad), at shows, from suppliers, as well as on ebay. It is good stuff and low cost. It is probably the best deal out there.
They sell everything from blocks to sheets to cut out blanks to semi-finished blades....all dirt cheap.

Thank you both for the replies. I will also look into alabama damascus. I know I have seen some of their stuff on ebay but may look for a supplier or attempt to contact them directly
 
Grayzer just contact em directly. They are great guys to deal with too. Just Google em, goes right to their website.
 
Yep, what they said. Brad is a good guy. Always has treated me right. Call him and tell him what you want. Sometimes he has some scrap pieces.
