Damascus Ram

110NS Damascus came in today.

My quest of getting a Damascus a year is futile. This was gonna be my "2008". But it has a "2006" blade.
Paid 2008 prices for a blade stocked (read as cost already paid for) two years ago.

Scales don't match (that bugs me more than the date code). Maybe I'm too picky???

Well...it may seem that poor Buck can't die right for me these days. But, I am not diasppointed to the point of sending it back.
It is a knice knife and will be my EDC. I like the ram horn...like glass.

No offense but your are to picky on the scales. I might be wrong here but you mean the scales are made out of Bighorn sheep horn right? Say that 3 times fast ;) . If that is true too find two scales alike would be hard to do.
 
I appreciate your concern, but no offense taken Rich. I wouldn't ask the question if I expected lies as answers ;)

Understand whatcha mean, hell, it's not like these are stamped out of a press. Prob pretty hard to find identical ram. It is my first ram knife so I dunno. Exactly why I asked.
I do know that all my other Bucks that are stag, elk, or buff have pretty closely matched scales in bark, jig, and overall apprearance. May be my first ram...but it ain't my first rodeo.

Having said that, as I have had this in my hand for just over an hour, I like it more and more. It's got "character" and it's mine :thumbup:

We best start getting some GOOD news here DAMN quick.

P.S. Starting with my knife at least ARRIVING so I can look at it. Priority mail rarely takes over a week like this one is.

Bighorn sheep horn for sure:) Man that is a awesome knife. Dont worrie for sure the scales are probably as close as they can match. The bighorn sheep up here in WA and ID are really neat. I saw a few last fishing trip in ID.
 
'Goose, those are nice inlays. For a minute I was worried you got my knife....but I ordered mine with pins;)
 
Yeah, you gents are right. It is a knice knife. I really like that Ram. Thinking it won't be my last.
Still wish I had the 2008 tang stamp...but what the heck...I am a lucky buck to have this Buck.

:cool:...Not bad at all gooser...Nice scales. Wonder how mine will look with rivets and "whatever kina steel I end up with"...Actually I kina wonder when I'll be gettin' the "been shipped" notification...LOL...:eek:...:p
 
I wanna see a pic of your's too Doc. I wrote and asked for rivets after initially ordering "no pins"...they replied indicating it would have pins...but ya can see here it doesn't.
Clearly, one cannot blame 'em for that. They sent what I had on their order form. I am thinking that I like this no-pin ram. But I really am looking forward to seeing your's.

And, BTW, glad I didn't order another sheath I didn't need. They sent a horiz option Genuince Corinthian Cordura...of which I prefer for the horizontal carry :)

It's all good in my little corner of the world.
I'll be the first to admit that my initial post that started this thread was wrong. It's my third mistake...I have two ex-wives to prove the other two I'd made ;)
