WOW!!!!!!
I really really like it!
Now I will have to build a display case or something to show it off.

Bill, the wood is Amboyna Burl. But an atypical color.

Thanks :)

This Amboina is the best I've ever used. It is incredibly hard. I compared it with ironwood.

Here are better photos :)

Milan, that is gorgeous. I'm going to have you make me one after you've finished our other project. Great WIP thread too, many thanks for it.

Nice work!

That is a real pig sticker. Love the amboyna burl. Great WIP pictures too.

That is a NICE piece of Amboyna !

Sometimes the burl can be very hard and heavy, and then it doesn't need stabilization - not like buckeye burl and the like

Bill

That's great Milan! Congratulations to Mark!
Your damascus is dense and powerful, and the design and finish of the knife delivers the same elegance and dignity of a Reinassance weapon!
At the block stage i tought there was too much drop in the handle but i was wrong!!! The knife is extremely sleek, all the lines and angles are perfectly flowing!
Thank you very much for showing your process

That is such a wonderful blade. I love seeing how these knives are made. Thanks for all the effort you put into this WIP, Milan.

WIP's are the best! Especially big bowie WIP's. Thanks for taking the time to post all the photos. Beautiful knife.

The pictures are also very good quality and deliver a lot of informations! If you are going to make future WIPs i'm going buying a lot of popcorn and beers :)

Before ordering this knife I had been watching Milan's work for a couple of years. I was always impressed with his clean, precise work.
His prices seemed lower than they should be so I thought there must be a catch. Something I was not seeing.
So.....the first knife I asked him to make was an inexpensive fighter for a friend.
When it arrived I was amazed at the quality of his work.
So I got in touch with Milan and asked him if he could make me a big pointy fighter.
My only other requests were that I would like a ring guard and I would send the wood for the handle.
I told him that everything else was up to him. I wanted it to be a project that he enjoyed.

As things went along Milan stayed in touch with me. If there were any delays they were only a matter of days.
I felt that the knife was coming along quickly so in my opinion there never were any delays. But when things did not go as quickly as Milan had planned he was great with his communications.
Time from start to finish was only a matter of weeks.
I can honestly say that working with Milan has been one of my most enjoyable experiences in having a knife made for me.

All those photographic attention to the construction details just tickled me into happiness! It's quite easy for me to see flaws in designs and/or construction of things (thanks to daddy, whom has been a construction worker for 30+ years and rubbed it off on me) but the process from start to finish was just comforting to watch.

Hi Mark!

You will enjoy this one for sure! I do have one or two of Milan's knives in my collection as well and can only echo what you said - Milan's work is impeccable and he is one great guy on top of it all!

All the best,
Alex
