Hey all,
Made this for fun, and was intending to keep it and use, but it's too nice. LOL

Overall length is 6", and the cutting edge is about 1" or so.

The steels are 1084 and 15n20. The pattern is Gordians knot.

I guess I shouldn't have spent those extra few seconds commenting. 😀 Good catch fanaticatheart.

Looks like the network at work didn't want me to buy this one. I'd be in for one also. Any possibilities of getting a sheath for it ?

For crying out loud, Phillip - RAISE YOUR PRICES!!!!!

That's an absurd amount of quality for too little money. Nice work, man.

You're right, but things just haven't been selling at the prices I would normally charge. The economy, I guess. But I still have bills to pay so....

this should easily sell for $125, especially considering the target market ;)

Right - I'm sure a surgeon can afford a 125$ freakin cool letter opener like this one :-)
(As I would be surprised if they'd bring such a device at an operation table)

They used things like this until 60 years ago. They sharpened them themselves and usually cold sterilized it because steam dulls the blade. I have used them on occasion as a trial.
Phillip if you are making some of these you can put my name in the pot too. I always wanted a Bistoury. I just got a fleam.

I realize that I am a little late getting in on this thread, but If you are still taking orders for this little scalpel,
I would love to order one. I will send you an email.
