Hello everyone. I would like to share the latest piece out of my workshop. This knife is made from 1095 and 15n20 twisted Damascus, laminated to a 1084 core, and incorporates a railroad spike as the handle. Questions, comments, critiques welcome!

Best Railroad spike knife ever :thumbsup:. How did you attach the spike to the Damascus, did you taco the spike onto the Damascus or weld the spike to the tang? Love the D on the Bowie style blade and I wouldn't change a thing :thumbsup:

Agreed, one of the nicest spike knives I've seen. And yeah, that was my first thought. How did you attach the spike to the blade?

It’s been a couple of years since Andy has been active here.

I haven’t asked about this particular knife but when we talked about others he has made he stated that he split the spike and would forge weld in a bit for the cutting edge.

Yep, you can sorta see it.

At first glance it seems like it'd be blade heavy. But the way it's being held in the photos, it appears to be well balanced. Just noticed that.
