Was watching you tube about etching Damascus steel (very interesting). The guy said the dark part on the blade shouldn't be rubbed after removing it from the etching solution for a period of time. Does anyone know as your Damascus steel blade wares does it lose some of light and dark areas. I like the Damascus steel look for a knife or two as a small part of a collection but I don't want the finish to ware off. Jim

No cash it doesn't.

My personal EDC after 3 plus years of hard use (besides a knife maker I'm a cattle rancher too) and this knife has done everything and just wiped off and stuck back in its sheath.

My ranching partners EDC knife I made him. Bout two years of use. He's way harder on stuff than I am. I often accuse him of digging in the dirt with his knives.

I wouldn't worry about it. Use em enjoy em and use em.

Thanks I'm glad to hear it lasts because I like the looks. I certainly wouldn't give the knife the ware you have so that's good enough for me, I can start looking. Thanks Jim
