What would be the best way to attach carbon Damascus bolsters to stainless liners?

This is for a slip joint, would silver soldering do the trick?

The problem I would worry about silver solder is final etching of the damascus. It may eat the silver solder. Spot welding is the most common and then there is the machine screws with nice heads. Steve Kelly makes some incredible folder parts for very reasonable cost. I have attached damascus bolsters to fixed blades with torx head machine screws and they look pretty good. Also look at a hidden screw system were the screw is used through the liners into the back of the bolster .
