OK so I have a few projects I am working on and one is alabama damascus and I would like to incorporate some wrought iron bolsters Ive made from some anchor chain I have. I would like to etch these and the blade.
So do you guys etch after you have added the bolsters (soldered and pinned) or do you fit up before hand, etch separately then put together and clean up then maybe try to reetch where the pins had to be sanded down?
Also was wondering about having the spine etched on the handle, I guess you can fit the wood, sand and everything along all the edges before attachment so you dont have to sand the spine after attachment.
Appreciate any help.
