Damasteel Icepick

I got the inspiration for this from a piece of Damasteel cut-off that I had laying around.

The handle is made with stabilized boxelder scales with a white micarta center.

The braided leather cord on the sheath sits in the groove in the handle and actually does a great job as a "keeperstrap".

A friend of mine thought it had a slightly sinister look to it....

I absolutely LOVE it! Your styling is always beautiful, but I'm surprised at how elegant and complex you were able to make the lines of something so simple as an icepick, and your leatherwork is phenomenal.

Well Noah just said everything I was going to... A simple icepick transformed into a play of line and shape. And the sheath... wow what a visual treat this all is..

Beatiful, yes. Functional, yes. Sinister - Hell Yes.

Gotta love this one. Gotta love 'em all, though!

Best,

With just a tweak, it would be the coolest oyster shucking knife in the history of the world... Love that shape.

NOW THAT'S AN ICEPICK !

And now, it's a Betzner icepick.

I have wanted something by Magnus ever since I first saw his work a few years ago. But with the Warenski and Erickson collections, I knew that anything else I purchased would be destined to eventually be sold.

But THIS IS A PIECE I WILL KEEP. It's cool and it is so representative of the work Magnus does, down to the sheath itself. What a fine beauty! What an artist.

Thanks, Magnus, I am amazed this was available!

Best,

Bob

That is too cool. Yes, it is an icepick, but it still has your signature grind and sheath shape and construction. Undeniably an Axelson icepick. Well done, sir!

Congratulations Bob. That is a very nice and extremely unique piece. I have been admiring Magnus work for some time and think you made an excellent choice. Very cool.

Enjoy, Jon
