Yeh, yeh, yeh...after all my ranting about the vulnerablity of the axis lock to accumulate dust, gravel, keys, earwax, lint, sticks, stones, small coins, and M & M's, I went and ..... shudder....bought one.

Now I am not gonna eat or sleep or perform bodily functions due to constant PLAYING with it. I am planning to devote what's left of my life and the small still-functioning part of my brain to mindlessly flipping it open and closed.

This thing should be controlled by the DEA!

:D

Well said. I tend to buy more Spydies than anything, but I do believe that the axis lock is the best thing going. I have several Grips and Mini-Grips, all in Cabela's D2 Steel. They are wickedly sharp and stay that way.

Last weekend I was overseeding parts of the lawn and opened about 20 bags of topsoil with my Grip. I really plunged that knife into the bag and dirt to slice the bag top to bottom and side to side.

It never dulled and I simply ran it under hot water and then applied some Tuff Glide to it afterwards.

Great knives.

I've had a BM921 for quite a while, but I just never warmed up to it.

I recently purchased a BM555GY-600 though, and I'm liking it a lot.

Now you see why the Benchmade 805 TSEK is my favorite folder...The Axis-lock ROCKS, and it IS fun to flip-open!...

I have somewhere between 450-500 knives, all shapes and sizes and makes, I have carried and used probably half of them. I also have 3 small and 3 large Grips, and the only EDC I constantly go back to is the mini-grip. D2 or S30V, doesn't matter. the only one I DON'T use is the M2 set, #011...

Yup, the Axis-lock is the stuff.

Once you've used a comfortable (for you) knife with the lock, it is hard to accept other locks without some other outstanding feature to compensate.

HAR!:) I just got one myself along with an Atwood. Yes, you are correct that Axis is incredibly addictive.
Sorry for the crappy webcam pic.

I prefer a thumbstud and am curious about one thing. Where are you finding these grips that are not in 154cm that's all I can seem to find??

Cabella's D2, and rare M2 Ritter Grips.

Should be tons of 440C out there, as it was the standard metal for years.

That is a beautiful picture. There must be something wrong in the way I'm wired but I really enjoy seeing pictures like that. More than porno even! Well, I'm getting old.

BTW, Ritter mini M2, Cabellas d2, 154, 440C, but no S30 Mini grip yet. I don't like the steel, but should get one to complete the set when I have spare money.

The Ritter M2, and Cabellas D2 are in the top 10 favorites of my collection ( about 350-400 knives also)

I like Spydies better on average but have benchmades going back to the "Weehawk" bladed panther in Gin 1 steel all those years ago. It was my first benchmade and is still in almost perfect condition. Those old boxes don't hold up that well though. Joe L.

Have got the M2, S30V and 154CM versions. Wish I could get a Cabela's
D2 but they charge 40% of the knife's cost for shipping internationally! I want one badly but I'm not paying that much in shipping, outrageous !

Are you in the UK? It cost $17 to get my full sized D2 shipped.. cheaper than Aeromedix, who told me they will no longer ship by USPS Global Priority (uninsured)

I am curious.

Are you guys able to do the 'axis flick' or whatever you want to call it? Basically pull the axis bar and flick the blade out? My mini won't do it but my dad's full size will.

Just wondering if anyone else is not able to or if mine just has an excessive amount of friction. Thanks!

Ryan
