DAMN this Mini-Griptilian

I prefer my pivots to be slightly tight, so no, on my Grips - I have two Mini-Grips and a full sized one. Yesterday, I picked up a 710 in D2:D Had to play in our pool league last nite, but when I got home, with the larger blade, by the time I finished adjusting the pivot (and swapping the clip after removing the black paint:) ), I can flick it open that way with a bit of effort. I tend to not require flipping one open - just be able to open quickly one handed occasionally. The pivot was a bit tricky this time around - there was this fine line between being too tight and smooth - but it's real fine now, AND I loctited it there. I've kinda had that itch waiting for some of new Spydies to show up here - couple weeks ago I bought a Ka-Bar/Dozier D2 Black Thorn to get me by, but got that itch again..... I kinda blew my "allowance" on this one - I have no choice now - I have to wait at least a couple or three more weeks before I can buy another folder:)

My mini M2 RSK will "Flip" very easily, the more you use it the easier it is to Flip. My EDC is #139, the backup is a lower number And I can't remember what number my set is. Yes I love M2 and the AXIS lock. Steven

Yup - as I found out:D For me it wasn't the Axis lock so much as trying to get the opening/closing smooth. I did notice, though, that if the pivot is a bit tight, the Axis lock sticks every so slightly - right now, I've got the pivot set so that if I release the lock quickly, the blade will drop down by gravity, but not fully. My other grips were fine out of the box, but this one was a lot tighter than than I've previously experienced - almost like it was overtightened deliberately - perhaps to ensure they get up here:) Interestingly, this was the same shop that I bought my Buck 887SBT Police Advocate and it was so tight you couldn't thumb it open. Other than that, I'm REALLY glad I bought it - I love my Endura 4, SERE 2K, but they stay in Maxpedition. Today, I removed my Mini-grip (clipped to my pocket, usually) and replaced it with the 710 - it didn't feel as heavy as I thought it would - not as light as the Endura, but not bad:) It wasn't as sharp as I expected out of the box compared to my Grips, but it was a "working sharp". Nothing a few swipes on the browns of my Sharpmaker couldn't take care of. It is a bit big for EDC in an office, so it may or may not stay in my pocket, but then again....
