damn..what are you gonna do with that???

Amen Kevan. I've noticed myself becoming more and more descreet about my hobby than I used to be. Initially the gentle ribbing from some friends was fun and given the fact that I'm the only 'bushman' that a lot of my friends know, fairly harmless. But as time has gone on I regard this hobby as a personal one, just to be shared with others who can apreciate it. If someone asks for a knife I tend to come out with the small SAK.

Thats all right. This co-worker showed me his destroyed folder. Was using in the basement...cutting up who knows what, and prying. Thing is dead. I just looked at him "Gee, why do you carry such a thick fixed blade?"

That's scary about sheeple being in the army. When I go there after I graduate from school, I was hoping that there would be less of a sheeple problem.

Just be thankful some of you can't be jailed, purely for your hobby.

Not for killing.
Not for threatening.
Not for showing.

Just for carrying. :barf:

No I don't carry and flash militery knives out at work. I had it out cause I was putting it back in my bag, checking to see if it was there. A few things have gone missing. I don't strut down the street and flash swords at people either. Whatever I am doing with it, is none of their damn business. We have far more sick looking knives where I work. They're just too thin and not ment for cutting heavy stuff. Hence my fixed blade. I carry a folder everywhere I go, only a fixed blade when I'll need stronger knife for tougher jobs. Besides I don't have to explain it to anyone.

All the more reason I love living in Georgia. Here as long as you don't conceal a knife, its perfectly legal. Of course for me its legal anyway, I'm a cop...

But besides that I always have my Al Mar SERE Operator on my belt, my Microtech UMS or LCC in pocket...and normally a gun visible too....

And no, no one knows I'm a cop, I don't like wearing a badge visible, thats in the pocket...

"Whats that big knife for" is what I hear about the Al Mar, and I just tell them that its for "cutting stuff" and they are good with that...

Yeah, its very legal here to carry a fixed blade in the open too. Random moose attacks you see.

Actually, I was sitting at work one day, late at night..only to see a moose go up main street. A big one. One way street you see, unsual to see someone go up the other end..plus it was a big, big moose.

All the more reason to carry multiple knives!
Carry a few small blades to do the small jobs with.
Or use something weird enough that it overrides the "what are you going to do with that", such as the spydercard or cricket.

When they ask you what that thing is for just say:

"I use it to slice open dumb liberals to see what makes them tick."

**Appropriate evil grin will improve response.
