A bit of good and bad from this company.

They have in the past said they aren't responsible if a package goes missing and won't help with it:

From the last preorder expected in February, this was the email informing of a delay:

Putting the tone aside, the FTC mail order rule (I learned about that here from one of the old stickies by Bastid or Esav Benyamin, can't remember) says they need to get confirmation from buyers they agree to the delay (or else refund fully for disagreement OR no response), but per this email, if you contact them, they'll just refund you. Guess they don't know about it.

Their designs are cool/different, but it seems like another knife designer/maker/seller who doesn't know how a business needs to run and best to stay away from.

...On the plus side, I had my refund within five minutes of responding.

Unless the buyer buys the shipping label, the responsibility for shipping falls on the seller. For a business to say they won’t respond to messages about missing packages, I would hope it’s just “tongue in cheek” for their frustrations with USPS.

The part about automatically canceling and refunding orders if someone inquired as to status is a complete @$$hole play. Worst case they can ignore them.. but to cancel and refund someone asking about something they are paying their hard-earned money for? Who does this guy think he is? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Thats a gamble to write… and not exactly an attractive marketing campaign. I personally wouldn’t do business with someone like that.

One the one hand, I love enthusiast run businesses because they're usually run by knowledgeable individuals who are often willing to go the extra mile for another enthusiast. The unfortunate other hand is that all too often they don't realize that being knowledgeable about the product you're selling is only a very small part of running a business and they're often badly lacking in experience and knowledge about the business side of things.

It doesn’t take “business experience” for a small business to curb a temper and respond with politeness, IMHO.

I’m pretty sure Damned Designs was a member here a few years ago? Isn’t he the guy with the smiley face logo with the one eye “x”ed out?

Yup…

Good to get the info out there. I wouldn't have preordered if I knew to expect this.

I had some interest in the Fenrir... But whatever. They're just rebadged Kubey's anyways, so I canceled my pre-order and put in an order for a Kubey Vagrant. I'll probably end up giving it away, but I've been wanting to try a Kubey for awhile now.

I'm on the hook for a Banshee Pre-order...I've had good luck with Adrien in the past--I own an XL Djinn and several of his beads-- so I'll hold out hope he'll make good on the pre-order.....if he doesn't deliver, well, it's been a decent run...no biggie.✌️
