Here's the first crook-back I've done in damascus. Its new owner was happy enough with it to suggest I post it up on the gallery. The knife itself is a 3 1/4" blade of 600 layer damascus. The handle is walnut burl with a corian throat and red spacers. It's finished up with a contoured brass guard and home-made mosaic pin. I hope you like it.

Really, really nice. That corian sets of the damascus blade beautifully. The single mosaic pin adds a lot to the look of the handle.

I am the proud owner of this knife. I asked J. to make this one for me after looking at other knives he has posted here. I am very happy with the results.
The blade is quite impressive damascus._ The high layer count and layer of Ni make some pretty patterns._ It's also screaming sharp, I have a large bald spot on my right arm as proof.
The corian throat goes well with the knife._ I had only seen photos on line of this material, so I did not know if I would like it in person._ Turns out I do like it._ The knife ballances right at the throat.
The walnut handle it comfortable and well shaped._ I really like the walnut/damascus combo._ I picked this combo by looking at J.'s on-line examples and combining my favorite parts of several of his other knives.
I also like the mosaic pin._ This is the first knife I have owned with such a pin._ It really adds a lot over a plain steel pin.
Finally, Tess has made a great sheath._ The external stiches, color, and decoration are all first rate._ It is one of the best custom sheaths I have seen.
I will put a few additional photos online soon.
