Dan’s Arkansas worth the investment with today’s super steels?

For tools and knifes all the Arks could be classified as finishers. Even the Washita's can produce edges that will pass HHT's in the lower end. The stones like the Washita's have a much wider working range than any synthetic stones.

Nothing that I have found so far, but I'm looking forward to when the American Mutt and Arctic Fox bench stones are back in stock.....

Depends on context, but arguably a lot of things beat them in terms of all three of those qualities.

I love my natural stones but for the harder carbide steels I go to diamond.

Not what your asking but I figured I'll share my thoughts. I have a norton hard arkansas and while I like it and use it on s30v with what I think are good results I wouldn't recommend it on cost alone. There are other options which cost less, are probably more practical for newer steels, and will give just as good an edge. On my kitchen knives (zwilling) and less wear resistance knives it's nice though.
