This is a slipjoint folder, from legendary knifemaker Dan Burke, who specializes in high end slipjoint folders, but certainly has a wide range of knifebuilding talent. A very rare knife, wait time would be in the half decade range. This is available, right now & it's an EDC style!
It is hafted in genuine antique Westinghouse Ivory paper micarta. The look of elephant ivory with figure, but the EDC durability of paper micarta.
The steel is a new steel from Sandvik,of Sweden. They specialize in cutlery steel. This new steel,14C28N,is a combo of their 13C26 razor blade steel & their common 12C27 ss. The end result,a ss that'll take a razor edge like some of the carbon steel you all know to get that "toothy" edge.
This knife has a hollow ground blade, and has a hand rubbed finish. A really nice swedge, with a style all it's own.Bronze washers in the pivot,it has a med pull & reeks smooth!Blade lays low in the frame when closed up,this knife is slim & slender & carries real nice. It's light & feels great in hand
The cutting edge is razor blade slicer sharp, wicked!
Dimensions :
7.5" OAL open
4-1/8" closed
3-3/8" blade,tip to scale
3-1/8" cutting edge
3/32" blade stock thickness
This knife was carried & lightly used by me,it's only owner. It has a tiny bit of blade play, just about un detectable & the blade lays off center closed maybe .002",a very slight imperfection.
The pricing on this reflects those disclosed details.
You can see & feel the 30 yrs experience of Dan, in this knife.
