Dan Burke Knives

Hey Vince...awesome knife there Sir!!...whew...has such a different look to this knife...I have enjoyed looking at it - thank you for posting my friend!

Thanks for the great comments
Dan described this knife saying,it is elegant & unlike most swaybacks you'll see.
From your comments,it's clear that most of you have realized this description & it feels great in the hand, blades are razor sharp. It is a wonderful pocketknife:thumbup:

Dan makes fantastic knives. I always enjoy spending time with him at blade. Seems like each year he as come up with something creative. The man has a lot of talent. From every day working knives to fancy multiblades including lobsters. Many with carving and inlays out of this world. A bit of advise if you going to Blade. Visit his table as early as you can. ;)

Thanks for starting this thread Vince. We do not get to see much of Dan's work around these parts.

These are not that fancy looking until you see what he did to make them.

Really nice split backspring wharncliff whittler in Rem. Bone.

One of the nicest muskrats I have ever handled. High polish all over stop bit and blade action out of a dream. Bone to die for with fit and finish as good as any.

Gus Thanks for adding to the thread, more great knives, interesting patterns.Your Burke knives you have shown here on BF's were probably the first one's I saw. Nifrand sold a few on BF's that I wish I had acted on,at least one of them, but I guess it was a timing thing.

There is one shot of the obverse side of the pen knife,on the swayback jack I posted knife,I need to add,for you all to see

Duncan & all, this knife is patterned off of an old Keen Kutter designed pattern.

Here's a slim line trapper Dan recently built. It is inspired by the Schrade 292,seen here in Waynorth's magnificent thread,Thanks Charlie :

This is older green micarta, with brownish russet color accents. This knife has a cam tang (no half stop),and the nail nick is placed perfect for the firm pull. Sandvik modern razor blade grade ss.

That looks like quite the cutter, Vince. How long is it?

Mike it's 3-7/8" closed. Its a nice blade profile.
I think what you'll see from Dan is knives that are just a bit different, than other makers.Very appealing. You can feel his many years experience in his knives.

Is this thread just for customs or are factory collaborations welcome too? If they are, I'll share. Here are a couple of Queen knives, a Rancher and a half-whittler. They're a couple of my favorite users.
