Both knives are now SOLD
Greetings gents,
Offered for sale is a pair of knives that fall squarely in the near-unobtanium category.
First up is a large hunter / utility from Dan Farr. It is one of the "Vanguard" series offered by Les Robertson and the first forged blade to included in that group. Mine is stamped 4 / 10. To the best of my knowledge only 4 have been completed thus farr.
Specs are as follows:
This is a truly superb one-knife-does-it-all type of blade - the elegant lines of the gentle recurve give this working knife an upscale look. The handle is signature Farr - a study in ergonomic perfection.
Price is US$550 inclusive of Paypal (preferred) and shipping anywhere in the CONUS and Canada. Shipping elsewhere at actual cost.Dan's list is presently closed. You can either get a knife from him at a show (be in the first 3 or 4 guys) or buy this one.
Knife is now SOLD.
Next up - and perhaps even harder to come by - a full size camp knife by the recent Peck Award winner, Nick Wheeler.
This is one of two Fikes-inspired camp knives that Nick made. It is the lower knife in the photo below:
Specs are:
This is just about as nice a camp knife as you could hope to find. It has a VERY active hamon, but unlike its companion piece, this blade isn't polished to bring it out. But point the knife away from you, tip it this way and that to let the light play along the blade and enjoy the show. Consider it a private pleasure. There is a small pin-prick sized spot on the other side of the blade about 2" beyond the choil. It MAY come out with a mild polish, but I wouldn't use any kind of abrasive on a Wheeler blade - his finish is just too awesome to mess with.
Price is US$895 inclusive of shipping and Paypal anywhere in the CONUS or Canada. Actual shipping elsewhere. As always, I am happy to answer any questions at rogerpinnock@cogeco.ca ,
but the first "I'll take it" gets either (or both). Knife is now SOLD
