I have never traded, bought or sold you a knife, yet you call me a troll?

I'd like to see how you came up with that conclusion.

Well, why not ... TGB&U isn't just for talking about the people you've had dealings with; the forum is often used for showing one's own character as well....

Per our emails; you asked, so here goes...

"When you plug yourself in such a shameless fashion, you've just got to expect that someone is going to take a shot at you...

To wit: GB&U is NOT the place to plug your business...sellers pay a $30 Gold membership fee, Dealers pay a $850 dealers fee..."

That's my read on things...

Now, if you're not 'selling', then please remove the prices from your web link, and replace them with a comment to the effect, "Trade offers only please, these knives are not for sale"...that, or ante up your $30, and post the knives in the appropriate "Knives for sale" forum...

I have a feeling that this is one of those threads that all the editing is going to leave me thoroughly confused as to what is going on.

...I think Dan was looking for positive affirmation that he's an all around good guy that's done some good trades here (2)...and he just wanted people here to know that he's ok to deal with...

At least, I think that's what he was thinking...

But, after the all the alarms and flashing lights started going off in my pea sized brain, what with the link to knives for sale and his basic membership...I donned my flame proof cape and welding goggles, and rushed to his rescue...

Now, Dan assures me that he's not selling knives, and that he's not a dealer...so y'all just ignore the prices listed in his web link, and most definitely ignore the little man behind the curtain...lol

I guess I'm still a little tweaked by the thought of someone posting their own GB&U, with a link to their knives for sale...or, as in his original post, with nothing more than the link...and that as a basic member.

So, I added 'stuff', an edit, based on Dan's email demand that I change my offensive post...(yeah, right...lol)

My second edit was done because I edited my original post at nearly the same time Cougar posted, so I cut and pasted my added comments into a new post, so as to avoid any confusion...

Now, that being said, I think I'll go start a GB&U thread to the effect, "Melvin-Purvis, what a great guy to do business with..."

Well, I just (nearly) finished a trade with Dan, and he is a great guy to deal with.. I still need to send him a check for shipping, but just to let y'all know, he's an understanding, patient man, that's true to his word.

I put myself in a situation where I could have come out a big looser... Sending knives for an "inspection period".
After he only showed interest in one of them, he let me have the time to come up with a cash equivilency for the remainder of the trade, which took a while.

His end of the bargain showed up yesterday, and it's everything he described it as.. Thanks Dan!!
