Dan Keffeler Katana

SILENCE! One does not question where Keffeler places the pin!:D

So the titanium fittings will be left naturally-colored? That's classy, I like it. After a decade or three they will develop a nice grayish patina.
IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN OR ELSE IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN?[emoji15]

beautiful. I thought about buying a Keffeler Katana for some time now. Maybe some paychecks later..

Infidel, now you need to get Dan to make the wakizashi and tanto, you need the complete set, my friend.

Thanks for all the kind words and threats to rob my corpse everyone.

I will eventually have 3 pieces from Dan but they won't be a set. The two swords will in be Japanese "Style" but it won't be a traditional Kat/Wak set. I've never liked Wakizashi. The second sword will almost be a Ninja-To. Or Chisa Katana of sorts. 18" blade and 12" tsuka with a very mild curve. The fittings will be titanium but a completely different pattern than this.

And Dan and I were talking about a knife... but it will probably me a modern field knife pattern.

That is the most incredible modern take on a katana I have seen. Material choices are just brilliant. Something about this just works so well, its so modern without taking anything from the traditions.

fwiw- An Aikuchi would be nice, instead of the tanto.
Thanks for helping, Anthony. :D

I'm glad Dan is around. I don't own anything from him, but his work is a high-water mark in my opinion.

This is the kind of thing we will all remember when trends have come and gone and everyone is wishing they'd have ordered a Keffeler 3V katana instead of that 59th framelock.

This made me chuckle.
From the Waki that i've used to down several trees, it came up very clear that he understands the fundamentals of performance first and aesthetics second.
What kept me going back to him is his down to earth personality and always seeking for improvements.
Kudos to Doc.
